Sense of Power And Control over Experience

One of the key foundations to thriving is having strong psychological foundations, or in other words developing the right mindset which is going to help you move forward and be resilient in life. Perhaps the most important of these is your ‘Sense of Power And Control over Experiences'(SPACE) which refers to how much control, or power, you believe you have over events and experiences in your life.

The following statements are designed to gauge your beliefs about yourself and the world around you. We want you to be able to get an accurate score as it is a very good indicator with which to measure your progress throughout the programme. The quiz is designed to elicit what you honestly believe about yourself and the world around you. It is not a test on how you think you SHOULD be or what you would LIKE to be so please try to consider carefully how strongly you feel about each statement according to your life right NOW.

Neither is the quiz testing you on right or wrong answers so even if the statements seem strange or you feel you have little opinion, please do input an answer along the scale from strongly agree to strongly disagree. There are no neutral answers as even if we have little opinion on a subject we always have a leaning either way.

Strongly agree – You absolutely believe this statement to be true and you can think of evidence to prove it

Agree – You believe in this statement to be true

Slightly agree – If you had to choose you would agree with this statement

Slightly disagree – If you had to choose you would disagree with this statement

Disagree – You do not believe this statement to be true

Strongly agree – You absolutely do not believe this statement to be true and you can think of evidence to prove it

At the end of the quiz you will receive a score and an explanation about how to use the programme to help you develop the key foundations to learn to thrive.
