Meet Alma

Alma leads your child through it.

Together they learn to spot unhelpful beliefs, especially the ones about being sick, and change them into helpful ones.

They also learn to manage their thinking, handle big feelings, and deal better with other people and stressful situations.

Grey-tinted glasses and orange Thrive glassesGrey glasses, orange glasses

Everyone wears invisible glasses that change how the world looks. The grey ones make rain miserable. The orange ones find the puddles worth jumping in.

Racing heart, short breath, sweaty palms, feeling sick. Each one is named and explained, so your child knows what’s happening to them.

How it works

Spend thirty minutes a day with your child working through the workbook.

It takes 6-12 weeks to learn the skills. Every day your child will learn a bit more, complete exercises and actions and apply their new skills. At the end of the workbook they will have acquired a full toolkit they will keep applying until their fear is gone.

It works because it doesn’t go after the fear itself. It builds up what sits underneath it, how your child sees themselves, how confident they feel with people and how in control they feel. As those grow, the fear fades.

As the parent

How to support your child.

The best thing you can do for your child is learn to thrive yourself. The Thrive Programme manual teaches you the same skills they’re learning in their workbook, at an adult level.

Once you know the skills too, you’ll know exactly what to say when they’re worried. Children copy what they see, so they’ll pick up your new responses as they go.
