Hi, my name is
Lisanne Prooij
I’m an Emetophobia-Free Coach
“I help high functioning women overcome Emetophobia and live their dream life without fear!”
A little about Lisanne…

I truly believe that everyone can overcome Emetophobia and having the right coach there with you throughout the process makes a MASSIVE difference, I experienced that for myself too!
I find transparency, honesty and being straightforward very important in my relationship with my clients. I want you to feel able to tell me and bring up anything and everything. And I'll do the same thing, because that makes overcoming it so much easier for you!
In her own words…
What do you love about Emetophobia-Free?
I LOVE Emetophobia-Free because I know how it completely changes lives. And I don’t just mean overcoming Emetophobia, which is already plenty live changing by itself. But I mean how I see my clients go from insecure women, who are so used to putting themselves down and holding themselves back, to becoming strong, powerful women who say and do what they want. Who are finally able to be proud of what they have achieved and are happy with who they are and what they see in the mirror.
I’ve seen young women go through a “second adulthood” and finally became the independent, strong and capable versions of themselves.
And that’s possible because Emetophobia Free is so much more than just overcoming Emetophobia, I came to my coach with not only emeto, but also depression and the worst anxiety possible. And I overcame all of that, without having to focus on all 3 things separately.
It’s been over 5 years that I did that and the investment I made into myself is still repaying itself. I KNOW and FEEL like I can cope with whatever happens in my life, I feel confident and capable and that is why I’m so sooo passionate about this programme.
You learn that overcoming Emetophobia is only the beginning of what you can do.
What did you do before you became a coach?
I got emetophobia when I was 15 and at the time I was set on becoming a makeup artist (which I was years later). But because I experienced first hand what it’s like when people laugh and ridicule you for having a phobia they don’t understand, I decided that I wanted to help people who also struggled with mental health, so they wouldn’t have to feel like I did, because I was there to help and understand them.
I’d wanted to be a coach for a longgg time, but it became a journey where I first studied Social Work and worked with people with mental/psychiatric/financial issues for over 5 years. I loved the contact I had with those clients, but I always felt that the way of helping them was not nearly as effective as Thrive was. So that’s when I made the leap to become a coach and later, to do this full time!
What's your sense of humour like?
I’m Dutch, so that means I’m thick skinned and not easy to offend. I’ve watched The Office (US version, obv) wayy too many times, same goes for Friends and Sex and the city and that does show in my sense of dry humour (which my friends would describe as pretty good).
What do you do when you're not working?
You’ll catch me reading a lot (for the readers: ACOTAR and anything SJM is my thing, but I also enjoy a good stand alone novel.)
And in the weekends, I go to as many museums as I can because being around art that was made hundreds of years ago fills my cup up like no other. Same goes for going to ballet, musicals, the movies, concerts, you name it!
And to fill my social cup, I really value times with my close friend group and will spend a long time with my best friend to sit at the beach, talking about nothing and everything.
I love my beauty sleep, but if you wake me up to go to Paris, I’ll jump out of bed as I’ve been there many times and it’s just my city.
An interesting fact?
The journey to getting here as an Emetophobia coach took me a total of 10 YEARS. It’s been my dream to do this for a decade and I even got Thrive tattooed on me. That’s how much this is a part of my life.
Away from coaching…
