Seminars, workshops and what’s on
We have run one and two-day emetophobia seminars in London, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Oslo, Ontario and New York, taking a room full of people through the whole programme together.
Nothing in the diary at the moment
There are no seminars scheduled right now. The full day was filmed, though, and you can watch all four parts free — or work through the programme with a coach or the manual whenever suits you.
What a seminar day is like
Rob Kelly leads the day, and it follows the manual from beginning to end: why you have this fear, the thinking styles and beliefs keeping it going, and exactly what to do about each one.
The other thing that happens, which nobody expects, is the room. Most emetophobes have never been in a room with another emetophobe. People arrive braced to explain themselves and find they do not have to.
Everything covered on the day is in the manual and in the filmed seminar, so nobody is waiting on a date in the diary to get started.
What people said afterwards
Every attendee at the Copenhagen weekend said they would recommend it to another sufferer. We asked them which part of the weekend helped most.
“There is so much — most of it was the most helpful.”
“I feel so dedicated, and looking forward to living my new life.”
“I now know what to do to manage my thinking and challenge myself in every area.”
“That I can change my thoughts and beliefs.”
“It can only be better from now on.”
“To hear everything said out loud. It’s easy to read, and now it’s easy to do the actions.”
“I was rather sceptical when I registered. I feel empowered and relieved.”
“It’s not about the past. I am creating this entirely in my mind.”
Bella Ramsey had this too.
And came out the other side.
“It’s not controlling my life anymore.”
The BAFTA-winning actor — The Worst Witch, Game of Thrones, The Last of Us — was housebound at one point as a teenager, and took travel sickness tablets and antacids to get through a working day on set. They had tried self-help books, CBT and hypnotherapy. None of it worked.
Bella went through this programme, and describes no longer thinking about sickness, no longer being frightened of it, and no longer letting it decide what they can and can’t do. They talk about all of it, openly, in their own words.
