Expert Coaching

The Emetophobia-Free programme was designed for people to work through on their own, and this is what most people do. However, going through it with someone who knows and understands emetophobia inside-out can speed up the process and make it easier…

From £1195*. The first conversation is free, and there is no hard sell in it. Nearly all sessions are online, so where your coach lives matters far less than when they work and what language you share.

What difference does a coach make?

An Emetophobia-Free Coach can support you through your journey to overcoming emetophobia, and help you get the most from the programme. Though all of our manuals are designed so that an individual can work their way through the programme on their own, success is usually quicker, easier and greater with the help and support of one of our coaches. The journey to thriving is also usually smoother, calmer and more predictable with a coach to guide you — they can help you navigate the bumps and hurdles.

Having someone by your side — every step of the way — just makes everything easier, simpler and, because you feel more confident, less stressful. Our coaches also have access to a host of extra support videos, exercises and materials which aren’t available elsewhere.

What’s it like, having a coach?

This is NOT therapy… it’s a fun, exciting and empowering training programme, and your coach is there to help you get the very most out of it. Your relationship with your coach will be similar to your relationship with, say, a personal trainer — although this will be more fun! Think of them as a supportive friend who just happens to be an expert in helping people overcome emetophobia.

Unlike your normal friends though, your coach won’t collude with you, they won’t accept your excuses, they will challenge you and push you, and they will get you to really work hard — that’s what you’ll be paying them for. Your coach is there to make sure you overcome your phobia as easily and quickly as possible.

What exactly will a coach do for me?

Your coach’s job is to help you navigate your way through the programme as smoothly as possible. Here are some of the things your coach will do:

  • Help you to fully embed all the learning within the programme
  • Help you to apply all the exercises, actions and other techniques
  • Help you to understand your TQ Report: show you what is causing your phobia, and what you need to do to overcome it
  • Help you to overcome any perfectionist thinking and social anxiety
  • Help you to manage and regulate your emotional responses
  • Help you to build real coping skills, so that you feel strong and powerful
  • Help you to reduce the high levels of stress and anxiety you are living with
  • Help you to build agency and have more control over your life
  • Show you how you learned your phobia, and how to unlearn it
  • Help you to really thrive and make the most of your life
  • Help you to live in the present, and forget about the past
  • Basically, to hold you accountable, make sure you’re putting the effort in, and ultimately, support you in getting yourself completely over your phobia

Tell me about the sessions…

You’ll probably meet once a week — either face-to-face or online — for about an hour. Most people only need six to ten sessions to work through the whole programme.

Because Emetophobia-Free is a complete programme, and there are various components within it — all of which need to be addressed — you’ll go through the whole programme with your coach. You won’t go just for a few sessions here and there; they will be with you every step of the way.

It’s not like therapy, where you never know what the goal is or where the finishing line is. Your TQ Report clearly maps out your journey: there’s a start, a middle and an end, and your coach will always keep you fully informed as to where you are on it. If you’re off track, they’ll show you how to get back on track.

What does it cost?

The cost of going through the programme with one of our coaches is usually £1195, and this is based on the average number of sessions a person needs, which is usually 8–10. Sometimes people require a few more sessions — for example if a mum and child are both going through the programme together — and sometimes they require less.

Either way, when you have your first — free — meeting with your coach, you’ll discuss the likely number of sessions needed, and agree on the cost. You’ll also agree on a cost for any extra sessions, should you want them. This transparency about costs helps you feel more in control about the process.

Most coaches will allow you to spread the cost of the sessions should you want to.

All of our coaches have completed the unique Thrive Programme Coach Training, and receive regular ongoing training, mentoring and supervision. They are the only professionals, with a strict code of practice, trained to deliver our unique programme.

How do I find the right coach?

You can either have a search through our coach gallery and choose one yourself, or complete our ‘Find me a coach’ form and we’ll do the legwork for you.

Either way, the first thing you’ll do is have a free initial meeting with your coach of choice, and see whether you gel with them. If you don’t, we’ll help find you one that you will gel with.

During this initial chat you can ask your coach any questions you have, and they’ll explain the process of going through the programme with them. There’s no hard sell — you can go away and think about it afterwards, and later let the coach know if and when you want to start.

Once your coach has assessed your situation, they will discuss with you how many sessions they expect you will need, and what the cost for the course — and any extra sessions you may need — will be.

One thing is certain: if you choose a coach, make the commitment and throw yourself into the programme, your life is going to start to change quite dramatically, for the better. Do you want to find your own coach, or would you like us to do it for you… click on the appropriate button below:
